Philip Griffin, Partner

Screen Shot 2016-04-07 at 3.45.15 PM Before Philip Griffin—a Partner at Clarke Griffin, LLC—attended law school, he served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, primarily flying ski-equipped C-130’s in support of the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic Research Program. During this time he also served in Japan as a Liaison Officer for U.S. Seventh Fleet to the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force. He also taught as a Professor of Naval Sciences at the University of Nebraska.

After graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law with his Juris Doctor, Philip began practicing law, first representing insurance companies and medical providers. His practice has since grown to focus on business and personal injury litigation, as well as assisting businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial matters. He is actively involved in international business and dispute resolution.

Philip frequently travels to Asia for clients, where he also appears as a guest lecturer and visiting professor in universities located in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the U.S.

He has been practicing law for over 28 years and is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in both Oregon and Washington.
